Decorating tips

Everyone wishes they could redecorate at least one room in there home but have no time or money. My tip for today is an easy way to transform any room.
Just because you bought a special piece ( picture, mirror, end table, etc.) for a specific room, it doesn't have to stay in that room for its entire life span.

1) Start simple, maybe a plant, or a lamp. Move it to another room.
2) Take something from that room or another room to fill the space.
3) LEAVE it there for 3 days.
* Change is hard. That is why your brain needs 3 days to adjust to the change. If you do not like it after 3 days then try another room.
Items that are easy to switch around
~ Curtains
~ plants
~ pillows
~ lamps
~ pictures, mirrors
If you can move it , it doesn't hurt to try.
If you get daring , even try a chair or couch. You will not believe how it will change your entire house. Good luck

Unique Designs

Everyone loves a fresh Christmas tree
but they do not have the space for it. Try a
1 1/2 foot fresh tree that will fit any where.
It still brings in the smell of fresh pine.
~ just shape your floral foam(for fresh flowers)
into a cone. Place it in your container ,making sure
you tape it in to avoid tipping. Work around the
cone with shortest pieces at the top and longer at the
bottom. Be sure to water often and it will last all winter.

This deep burgundy Christmas design
is an elegant and showy piece. It can sit in an
entrance way or on a side table .
Work in three's and it gives you a unique design.

My grape design gives a different twist on
fruit in a bowl. Twisting the ferns around the arrangement
gives it a modern look. Be creative, its fun.

Winter Planters

Every one loves to see those beautiful planters done up for winter . Many think it is too hard to do on their own. My easy tips will show you how to create your design.

Tip 1)
When getting started to do your planters it is best to do them before freezing.
( if the soil is already frozen just take in side to thaw.)
2)
Keep the soil in the planter that was there from your summer flowers.
Just cut the flowers off and you are ready to start.
3)
Greens can be purchased at a flower shop or grocery store. Or you can
do as I do and cut them from the side of the road.

Design Time ~ You will need : (supplies depend on the size of planter)
For a med size urn.
~7 pieces of cedar
~7 pieces of pine
~3 -5 dogwood sticks ( red branches at side of road)
You may use other greens and add your own touches eg. berries

1) start in the middle with all your dogwood.
2) place your first 3 pieces of pine around your sticks in an up
right position. (angle slightly outward)
3) in between the pine put your 3 pieces of cedar.
4) fanning outward and down fill in with the last pieces of pine and cedar
(alternating pine and cedar)
5) you may have some spaces so just fill in if needed.

You should now have your own Winter Planter .
