Winter Planters

Every one loves to see those beautiful planters done up for winter . Many think it is too hard to do on their own. My easy tips will show you how to create your design.

Tip 1)
When getting started to do your planters it is best to do them before freezing.
( if the soil is already frozen just take in side to thaw.)
2)
Keep the soil in the planter that was there from your summer flowers.
Just cut the flowers off and you are ready to start.
3)
Greens can be purchased at a flower shop or grocery store. Or you can
do as I do and cut them from the side of the road.

Design Time ~ You will need : (supplies depend on the size of planter)
For a med size urn.
~7 pieces of cedar
~7 pieces of pine
~3 -5 dogwood sticks ( red branches at side of road)
You may use other greens and add your own touches eg. berries

1) start in the middle with all your dogwood.
2) place your first 3 pieces of pine around your sticks in an up
right position. (angle slightly outward)
3) in between the pine put your 3 pieces of cedar.
4) fanning outward and down fill in with the last pieces of pine and cedar
(alternating pine and cedar)
5) you may have some spaces so just fill in if needed.

You should now have your own Winter Planter .
